Disability employment training brokers and charities have been set up to support disabled people in getting into employment and also by offering support in the job.

Remploy

Shaw Trust is a national charity that provides routes to work for people who are disadvantaged in the workplace due to disability, ill-health or other social circumstances. This can be through job preparation, job finding, job support, job retention and job creation.

PIE (People Into Employment)
PIE bridges the gap in services available to carers, ex-carers and people with disabilities who may be considering returning to work. PIE help people prepare for work whether it be paid or voluntary by matching their skills and experiences and by offering training, re-training, confidence building or just moral support. Help is also available with application forms, interview techniques and benefit advice. (web-site coming soon.....)

Job Broker North East
Services Job Broker NE offer are job search, training, financial support, advocacy, and in work benefits advice for people claiming incapacity or sickness benefits. Specialist services offered include access to jobs database, personal support before and after starting work and assignment of a professionally trained consultant as a personal advisor. Training is individually tailored to meet customer needs and there is benefit protection for up to 1 year.
